Bonerkiller: Guys That Say "Thank You" To Me After We Kiss

No, THANK YOU for saying something weird
after we just played tonsil hockey
After a passionate liplocking, please don't disengage, smile, and softly coo, "Mmmm. That was nice. Thank you." There's no need to thank me for kissing you. That's fucking dumb.

I don't know why that little "thank you" gets under my skin so much, but it does. It's pathetic, like why wouldn't I want to kiss him? Do people not kiss him a lot? Why? Is there something I should know? Was his face used for a gonorrhea ad or something and he didn't tell me? Is he related to Hitler? My wheels are spinnin', man!

And, what am I supposed to say in response to his gratitude? "You're welcome"? "That'll be five bucks, Mister"? "Actually, your Dad's a better kisser"? See what I mean? Ugh. I don't even want to look at him anymore.

I don't know if he saw someone say it once in a rom-com or what, but he's gotta retire the post-kiss "thank you" immediately because it totally ruined the mood. Whatever. Let's just enjoy the silence as Depeche Mode instructed us.

thank you.

I prefer to thank a lady who's kissed me by kissing her again. Maybe it's just me.

Does the guy in question not have English as his first language? I ask not to be rude, but I've dated two women for whom this was the case, who both said "thank you" after a kiss (and an orgasm).

A lot of guys say this to me; not one. And, they're all English-speaking Americans so I don't think that was a factor. But, good guess!

Hmm. I used to do this too, the thanking. I think it is the niceness gene.

hahaha, I hate that too. It's so awkward, like he didn't know what to do next or something. And I don't know about you, but in my experience, they usually say it in a weird, low, trying to be sexy, kind of voice that turns me off even more.

Anna said...

Yes! That low voice is a groaner.

My bet: they think they're being chivalrous/gentlemanly. If an expression of any sort is required, a simple "Wow" would work better.

Big turn off, and big red flag. If the person receiving a kiss for the first time says 'thank you' it may reflect a narcissistic personality. It may be that the person has no instinct for the natural give-and-take of what lovemaking should be and only thinks of their own pleasure.

I have had a woman recently say thank you after a first kiss and my feeling at first was that this beautiful woman was not used to being kissed. Hadn't felt beautiful and connected to someone else for a long time, maybe was even trying to keep her wits by using formality to disatance herself... Time told the true story however... Over time I came to know that my passionate kiss was met by formality and distancing because... She wasn't into the kiss...

Sigh... All a part of life's rich pageantry. :-)...

I think there might be some truth to a lot of what the people on this thread have said, here is why...

I'm female in my 30s and I don't believe in premarital sex so I tend stay firmly away from dating especially where I feel the other party wouldn't understand my choices. I've had a few boyfriends one who I was with for 10 years and others for a year or a few months. I kissed them all, a lot... But recently after a 2 year break from dating/kissing I said thank you several times to a guy I was kissing ...I couldn't control or stop myself from saying thanks ...it was just so pleasurable that I wanted to express my gratitude..

You hit the nail right on the head! ...
Narcissist want you to just move on from being angry at them .. they don't care about your feelings ... They don't care about wanting to talk about things together and work things out Together!! ..they just get/give a peck of the kiss and then he says thank you and you feel like you have been the problem... When in reality THEY ARE!!!!
THE NARCISSIST DON'T KNOW THAT THEY ARE NARCISSISTIC... IN FACT THEY DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT THE WORD MEANS. 🤔😒😕
